Technical Workshop: Windows Server 2012 Hands On Lab

It is vacation for some but sometimes some have to go above and beyond.  A couple days ago some techies attended  had a great workshop. It is always great to meet new students and alumni of your old school. It is also awesome to attend a workshop with a great teacher!

Es vacaciones para algunos, pero a veces algunos tienen que ir más allá. Hace un par de días tuvimos un gran taller. Siempre es un buen momento para conocer nuevos alumnos y exalumnos de la vieja escuela. ¡También es genial asistir a un taller con un gran maestro.!

 The Director of Education Mr. Cott lead the workshop with the assistance of the Help Desk Technician Mr Roberts.

 All students and alumni were given a monitor, a system unit, a keyboard, power cord plug, power supply plug, etc. We had to connect the computer, configure and install the Operating System.

Dieron a todos los estudiantes y los alumnos un monitor, una unidad del sistema, un teclado, enchufe del cable de alimentación y enchufe del suministro de energía, etc. Tuvimos que conectar el ordenador, configurar e instalar el Sistema operativo.

 While installing Operating System, we created our network cables to create a Star Network. Yes, it is fun while working.

Mientras instalando el Sistema operativo, creamos nuestros cables de la red para crear una "Red Ethernet". Sí, hubo diversión mientras trabajamos con musica.

We installed and configured our operating system and created our network cable. We all connected to a 24 port switch and verified our network was working by pinging each other.

Instalamos y configuramos nuestro sistema operativo y creado nuestro cable de red. Todos estamos conectados a un switch de 24 puertos y verificado que la red estaba trabajando haciendo ping entre sí.

  Once we were all connected to the 24 port switch and able to ping one another, we set up Active Directory Domain Services and DNS. We ended the day with some refreshments.

Una vez que estábamos todos conectados a el switch de 24 puertos y capaz de hacer ping, configurar los Servicios de dominio de Active Directory y DNS Terminamos el día con unos refrescos y sabrosos pizza.

It was an awesome day with fellow IT students working as a team and doing what we have done many times: configuring, installing, creating network cables, configuring operating system, troubleshooting  and networking.

Se trata de un maravilloso día con colegas, estudiantes que trabajan como un equipo y haciendo lo que hemos hecho muchas veces: configuración, instalación, creando cables de red, configuración del sistema operativo, la resolución de problemas y trabajando en redes.

Ten days of Adventure and Fun with #DisneyJuniorFamilia @DisneyJuniorUSA #ad

It has been a really fabulous ten days of fun and adventure with #DisneyJuniorFamilia. My family grew up with Mickey and Minnie and as time went by Jake and Sofia came along. With each addition to the #DisneyJuniorFamila there is memories with laughter going along. It seems they have been a part of our familia forever. My favorite has always been Mickey and Minnie! What is your favorite character? I can remember the first time the little one saw Mickey, she cried and since then we have not been to Disney. We certainly are looking forward to seeing Mickey and Minnie an the others sometime soon. Here we found some baby toys and there was some memorable moments created with Minnie, and Doc McStuffin friends: Lambie and Stuffy.

Han sido unos diez días realmente fabulosos de diversión y aventura con #DisneyJuniorFamila. Mi familia creció con Mickey y Minnie y con el paso del tiempo, Jake y Sofía nos acompaño. Con cada adición a la Famila de Disney Bebe hay recuerdos de risa a lo largo. Parece que siempre han sido parte de nuestra familia. Siempre ha sido mi favorito Mickey y Minnie! ¿Cuál es tu personaje favorito? Recuerdo la primera vez que la pequeña vio a Mickey, lloró y desde entonces no hemos visitado a Disney. Ciertamente estamos mirando adelante para ver a Mickey y Minnie y los demás pronto. Aquí encontramos algunos juguetes de bebé y hubo algunos momentos memorables creados con Minnie y los amigos de la Dra McStuffin: Lambie y Stuffy.

These past ten days has recreated some rather fun-loving moments with the little ones. It sometimes felt like the moment has stopped in time as we gathered around with Mickey to have a quick smile or share a cup of tea to end the day singing with Mickey Mouse and the clubhouse. Estos últimos diez días ha recreado algunos momentos bastante divertido con los más pequeños. A veces parecía que el momento ha dejado en el tiempo como nos reunimos alrededor con Mickey para tener una rápida sonrisa o compartir una taza de té para terminar el día canto con Mickey Mouse y la casa club. ¿Tuvo algunos momentos familiares especiales con Mickey? Whenever we gather around to do an activity, everyone had a happy smile as if they were going on a journey in another world. How funny it is to relive those moments with your little ones. It is amazing how much we have learned with our extended family and how much fun they have provided for us at home. We surely had loads of fun as we went to dress up as Jake and his fellow pirates as well as Sofia and her tea party but we cannot forget our Doc McStuffins who take great care of the pets.

Cada vez que nos reunimos alrededor para hacer una actividad, todos tenían una sonrisa como si van en un viaje en el otro mundo. Lo gracioso es que revivir esos momentos con los pequeños. Es increíble cuánto hemos aprendido con nuestra familia y cuánto han proporcionado por nosotros en casa. Seguramente tuvimos mucha diversión como fuimos a vestir como Jake y sus colegas piratas así como Sofía y tomando té pero nosotros no podemos olvidar nuestra McStuffins Doc que cuidar de los animales domésticos.

You can also find recipes on #DisneyJuniorFamilia and make that special dinner for yourself.  Here I will share my snack bite size which is fairly easy and is beautiful as well.

Siempre que nos juntemos para hacer una actividad, cada uno tenía una sonrisa feliz como si viajaba a otro mundo. Que gracioso volver a vivir aquellos momentos con su pequeño. Es asombroso cuánto hemos aprendido con nuestra familia ampliada y cuanta diversión nos han asegurado en casa. Seguramente teníamos mucha diversión cuando fuimos para disfrazarnos como Jake y sus piratas del mismo tipo así como Sofía y su merienda pero no podemos olvidar a nuestro Dra McStuffins quien toma el gran cuidado de los animales domésticos.

Minnie Bow Bites Party

1 pack strawberries
1 sml pack blueberries
1 pack toothpicks
1 banana

Method

You wash the berries well. Cut into triangle shapes or in halves if you wish. Next, add the strawberry with the end pointing out, add the blueberry and then the next strawberry. You do as many as you wish and is a really finger food for the kids.

The Minnie design is what you see is what you get. It is easily made. Cut all fruit in a dish and allow the kids to make their design of Minnie as they wish. Really creative activity for them to enjoy and eat as well as very healthy!

Mickey Pasta Dish

1 pack pasta or macaroni or your choice

1 diced carrots

1 pk broccoli chopped 

1 can black olives

Apples

Method

Boil pasta as directions on the box. I put in the chopped broccoli and carrots before the pasta finish cooking and add the sauce. 

I use apples to make the eye and tongue, yummy something sweet. I put the black olives for the hair and ear and side and eyes.

I do add some more cheese as we like the flavor of the cheddar and the more cheese the tastier.

This look nice with mashed potatoes but we wanted pasta so we did it with pasta. It sure is a great party dish for the children and elder children as well. Enjoy!!!

Have you decided what to have for today with the family gathering? Here are some great tasty suggestions that are simple and mouth watering ideas while having fun in the sun. These can be taken to the beach and everyone enjoys the scrumptious taste after a dive in the ocean.

¿Ha decidido que hacer para la reunión de la familia? Aquí están algunas sabrosas sugerencias que son simples y deliciosos mientras se divierten en el sol. Estos se llevar a la playa y todo el mundo disfruta del delicioso sabor después de bucear en el océano. 

Here are two that I enjoyed many times for throughout the year especially by the seaside:

Coconut Shrimp Minis with Tropical Sauce

Ingredients

• 1 package (12 oz.) frozen coconut shrimp, reserve dipping sauce
• 1/3 cup Hellmann's® or Best Foods® Real Mayonnaise
• 10 party-size potato rolls, split
• 5 slices Muenster cheese [or Swiss cheese], cut in half and folded over
• 10 pieces green leaf lettuce leaves

Directions

1. Cook coconut shrimp according to package directions; remove tails.
2. Combine 2 tablespoons dipping sauce with Hellmann's® or Best Foods® Real Mayonnaise; evenly spread on bottom of rolls. Top with cheese, cooked shrimp and lettuce, then remaining rolls; secure with toothpicks. Garnish, if desired, with cubed mango, papaya or pineapple.

• *If coconut shrimp does not have dipping sauce, blend 2 tablespoons tropical flavored jam or preserves (pineapple, orange) with Hellmann's or Best Foods Real Mayonnaise.

 This is surely a favorite of ours while chilling by the beach and enjoying the sunshine and playing in the sand with the children or simply a sunny day by the pool.

Ingredientes
1 paquete (12 oz) camarón congelado de coco, reserva de salsa
1/3 taza Hellmann ® o Best Foods ® Real mayonesa
10 rollos de fiesta-tamaño patata, split
5 rebanadas Muenster queso [o queso suizo], cortar por la mitad y doblado sobre
10 piezas de hojas de lechuga de hoja verde

Metodo

Cocina camarones al coco según las instrucciones del paquete; elimina colas.
Combina 2 cucharadas de salsa de Hellmann's ® o Best Foods ® Real mayonesa; distribuido uniformemente en la parte inferior del panecito. Cubra con queso, camarones y lechuga, entonces quedan rollos; asegúrelo con palillos. Adorne, si lo desea, con cubos de mango, papaya o piña.

* Si camarones al coco no tiene salsa, mezcle 2 cucharadas mermelada con sabor tropical o conservas (piña, naranja) con de Hellmann o mejor mayonesa Real de los alimentos.

Mango Tea Slushie

Ingredients

• 1/3 cup Lipton® Green Tea with Honey & Lemon Sweetened Iced Tea Mix*
• 1 can (12 oz.) mango nectar [or papaya nectar]
• 1/3 cup water
• 4 cups ice cubes

Directions

1. In blender, add all ingredients; process until smooth. Serve immediately. Garnish, if desired, with mint.
2. * Use more if a sweeter flavor is desired.

Ingredientes

1/3 taza Lipton ® té verde con miel y limón endulzado Iced Tea Mix *
1 lata (12 onzas) néctar de mango [o néctar de papaya]
1/3 taza de agua
4 tazas de cubitos de hielo

Metodo

En una licuadora, agregue todos los ingredientes; Procese hasta que quede suave. Sirva inmediatamente. Adorne, si lo desea, con menta.

Celebration has begun @Discovery Cove at the birth of the two calves. Yes, it is joyous to see the birth and development of these little dolphins.  A  while back on one of our trip to SeaWorld we got to see some mommy dolphins and they were ever so happy talking to passersby. It is always lovely to hear the conversations of the dolphin. It is every so chirpy and happy. 

Celebración ha comenzado @Discovery Cove en el nacimiento de los dos terneros. Sí, soy alegre para ver el nacimiento y desarrollo de estos pequeños delfines. Hace un tiempo atrás en uno de nuestro viaje a  SeaWorld pudimos ver a algunos mami delfines y estaban tan felices hablando a los transeúntes. Siempre es bonito escuchar las conversaciones de los delfines. Es todo tan alegre y feliz.

It is amazing how these creatures are so much like humans and so very sensitive and a darling: ever so protective of their babies. It is great that the dolphins are learning and growing up in an environment that appreciates as there cannot be any captured animals at either of these places. This is bittersweet but a great reason that there are young ones being born: this time to Natalie and Rose.

Hola Celebramos Cinco de Mayo !!! #ViveMejor

Isn't the month of May one of the most beautiful month with lots of festivities and has the beautiful colors of Spring. The weather is all so lovely filled with blue sky and rays of sunshine and to make it better the singing of the birds in the early morning. Just right!

Well, Cinco de Mayo is right here already. What is the Cinco de Mayo?  It is the celebration that is celebrated by the Mexicans- Americans which mistakenly celebrates the Mexican Independence day. Cinco de Mayo is really a celebration in Puebla, Mexico,  it is a battle liberating the Mexicans of the French. The Mexican Independence day is celebrated nationally on September 16th.

Bien, el Cinco de Mayo ya está aquí. ¿Cuál es el Cinco de Mayo? Es la celebración que es celebrada por los mexicanos - americanos que equivocadamente celebra el Día de la Independencia mexicano. El Cinco de Mayo es realmente una celebración en Puebla, México, es una batalla que libera a los mexicanos de los franceses. El Día de la Independencia mexicano se celebra nacionalmente el 16 de septiembre.

The celebrations calls for food and all we can think of is the smell of Mexican food in the air. It sure makes me long for my grandma's food. The freshly made corn tortillas, the smell of roasted tomatoes and onions and beans. How yummy! It is so good to have memories but it is always good to make new ones and share with your family.

Las celebraciones son todo sobre la comida y todo en el cual podemos pensar es el olor de la comida mexicana en el aire. Seguro me hace recordar la comida de mi abuela. Las tortillas mexicanas del maíz nuevamente hechas, el olor de tomates asados y cebollas y frijoles. ¿Qué rico! Es tan bueno tener recuerdos pero siempre es bueno conocer gente nueva y compartir con su familia.

Creamy Spicy Mango Salsa

Ingredients

• 1/4 cup Ragu® Old World Style® Pasta Sauce
• 2 Tbsp. Hellmann's® or Best Foods® Light Mayonnaise
• 1/2 tsp. chipotle chili powder
• 1 large ripe mango*, peeled and chopped
• 1 small red bell pepper, chopped (about 1 cup)

Directions

1. Combine Ragu® Old World Style® Pasta Sauce, Hellmann's® or Best Foods® Light Mayonnaise and chili powder in large bowl. Stir in mango and red pepper. Serve, if desired, with tortilla chips.

• *SUBSTITUTIONS: Use 1 package (10 oz.) frozen mango, thawed and chopped, instead of fresh mango. Also, try using regular chili powder instead of chipotle chili powder.

Ingredientes:
1/4 taza salsa Ragú Old World Style® Pasta Sauce, Hellmann' ® Pasta
2 cuchadas de Hellmann's ® o Best Foods ®  lighmayonesa
 1/2 cucharadita de chili en polvo de chipotle

I had the privilege of seeing Decoding Anne Parker movie and am grateful for both: health and life.
It is heart-wrenching to learn how much a surviving cancer patient endures and how much stronger that person becomes while dealing with their personal life and family. I believe she sees life from a different perspective and seems to aspire for more. It is amazing how two incredible women's paths are intertwined as they struggle in their own way to find a solution for the same purpose: eliminate cancer.

Tuve el privilegio de ver la película de decodificación Anne Parker y estoy agradecido por los dos: el salud y la vida. Es desalentador para aprender lo que un/una enfermo de cáncer que sobrevive soporta y cuánto más fuerte que la persona se hace manejando su vida personal y asuntos de la familia. Creo que ve la vida desde un punto de vista diferente y parece aspira para más. Es asombroso cómo dos caminos femeninos increíbles se entrelazan ya que luchan de su propio modo de encontrar una solución con el mismo objetivo: elimine el cáncer.

 It is really incredible how one woman fought on a scientific path with funding and the other on an emotional front learning from her experience and some research to overcome the deadly disease of many. It is emotional to see their shared determination, unconventional approaches to their research and how their lives crossed paths. 

Es realmente increíble cómo una mujer luchó en un camino científico con la financiación y otro en un frente emocional que aprende de su experiencia y un poco de investigación para vencer la enfermedad mortal de muchos. Es emocional para ver la determinación compartida, enfoques poco convencionales en sus investigación y cómo sus vidas cruzaron en el camino. 

Sometimes it is a woman's intuition as in Anne Parker (Samantha Morton) life that she senses it might be her turn next after seeing her mom and sister touched by cancer with a devastating outcome. What are her odds against the deadly disease? I am assuming it is based on that time the movie takes place and the fact that it is a woman Mary-Claire King (Helen Hunt) accomplishing her goal but it lacks warmth and that human touch. I am sadly disappointed that the only encounter of the two women fighting for the same cause with so much determination and passion was without excitement or emotion. 

Aveces es la intuición de una mujer como en la vida de Anne Parker que ella detecta que será su la siguiente después de ver a su mamá y su hermana afectada de cáncer con resultados devastadores. ¿Cuáles son sus probabilidades contra la enfermedad mortal? Estoy suponiendo que es la época en que la película ocurre y el hecho de que se trata de una mujer logrando su objetivo pero le falta calidez, ese toque humano. Tristemente me decepciono que el único tiempo que se encontraron las dos mujeres que luchan por la misma causa con tanta determinación y pasión no habia nada de ese entusiasmo o emoción.

SYNOPSIS

Based on true events, Decoding Annie Parker is the hopeful and touching story of two remarkable women and their 15-year battle against a cruel and insidious illness, breast cancer. Waged on both scientific and emotional fronts, they are drawn together not just by the disease but by their shared determination andunconventional approaches to their research and to their lives.

Annie Parker (Samantha Morton) has a personal relationship with breast cancer. Her mother and her sister died of the disease and ultimately she is diagnosed with it too. Naturally affable with an offbeat sense of humor – even in the face of her own mortality, she struggles to hold her family and life together, as her body betrays her.

Meanwhile, geneticist Mary-Claire King (Helen Hunt) is convinced there is a link between DNA and cancer – even if no one in her profession shares her belief. Against the advice of nearly all of her colleagues, she persists in her research and her dogged pursuit for funding that will.

It is rewarding to know that many will become aware of the trials and triumphs of some of the accomplishments of the Breast Cancer Research. This is just the beginning of the many triumphs of  how remarkable women work to make one of the most important genetic discoveries of the 20^th century and hope we will learn of many more. Onward we go with Hope for a cure for breast cancer and breast cancer survivors.

Supermarkets cheese makes delicious snacks, hors-doeuvres

It has been a while since I have been in the kitchen officially.  I was totally out of action. Nevertheless, I hope you all have been well and enjoying life as usual. Well, since I was out of the kitchen, someone else has been having a little fun time around in the kitchen.
There is always someone making snacks and it amazes me how they make the little things looks so beautiful.

Ha sido un tiempo desde que no he sido oficialmente en la cocina. Estaba totalmente fuera de servicio. Sin embargo, espero que todos ustedes hayan estado bien y gozando de la vida de costumbre. Bien, ya que yo estuve afuera de la cocina, alguien más ha estado divertidose  alrededor de la cocina. Siempre hay alguien haciendo bocadillos y me sorprende cómo hacen las cosas pequeñas tan hermosas.

We love cheese, all sort of cheese. Sometimes we have the real, natural cheese and sometimes we have the supermarket cheese to have a variety of flavors. There is always some sort of sweet to go along with the cheese. Sometimes it would be olives and some type of nuts to complete the snack. Yes, we are big with all different types of nuts: walnuts, almonds, pistachio or simply some peanuts.

Nos encanta el queso, toda clase de queso. A veces tenemos el queso verdadero y natural y a veces tenemos el queso del supermercado para tener una variedad. Siempre hay alguna clase de dulce para ir junto con el queso. A veces sería aceitunas y algún tipo de nueces para completar el bocadillo. Sí, nos gusta mucho todos tipos de nueces:  almendras, pistacho o simplemente algunos cacahuetes.

Here are some of the ideas that were made with the supermarket cheese and hope you enjoy as much as we do. It is good for an afternoon snack if the children is used to these types of food. We used it a lot when we have get together with friends and family.

Aquí está algunas de las ideas que se hicieron con el queso del supermercado y espero que disfrutéis tanto como lo hacemos. Es bueno para una merienda si los niños les gusta estos tipos de alimentos. Lo hemos usado mucho cuando estamos junto con la familia y amigos. Buen provecho!

This is a yearly cleaning to get rid of all the younger ones stuff and toys and makes space for the new spring clothing and beach toys. It is amazing how we all acquire stuff little by little without taking note. Then we wonder how did we accumulate so much. Let's clear the home and take a nice trip to GoodWill this year.
