Are you ready to join in the Polar Plunge @ Aquatica, SeaWorld's Waterpark™. Brrrrrr, sounds like fun! It will be held on On Saturday, February 1, 2014, this is all for a worthy cause which will the 5^th Annual Polar Plunge® benefiting Special Olympics Florida. Se celebrará el sábado, 01 de febrero de 2014, esto es todo por un causa digno que será el quinto ®  zambullida Polar anual beneficiando a las Olimpiadas especiales de Florida.

 

Polar Plunge is a statewide fundraiser during which individuals and teams raise money for the privilege of plunging into the chilled down wave pool alongside Special Olympics athletes. Aquatica Orlando is usually warm and tropical, but once each year participants can experience the ‘thrill of the chill’, all while supporting a great cause.

La Zambullida Polar es una inmersión para recaudar fondos a nivel estatal en la que los individuos y equipos recauden dinero por el privilegio de sumergirse en la piscina de olas frías junto a los atletas de los Juegos Olímpicos Especiales. Aquatica Orlando suele ser cálido y tropical, pero una vez cada año, los participantes pueden experimentar la emoción de la "chill", todo ello al tiempo que presta apoyo a una gran causa. 

After taking the plunge, participants have access to the park for the day. Last year, more than 1,100 people took the plunge to benefit Special Olympics Florida! Plungers who raise more than $100 can earn extra incentives, including Aquatica Orlando and SeaWorld® tickets and admission to Discovery Cove®.

WHAT:   Aquatica, SeaWorld’s Waterpark^TM in Orlando is hosting the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson™ 

QUE: Aquatica, WaterparkTM de SeaWorld en Orlando se aloja la Lección de Natación más Grande del mundo ™ 

 WHEN:   Tuesday, June 18, 2013. We invite guests to participate and help set a world record and help save lives.

CUANDO: Martes, 18 de junio de 2013. Invitamos a participar y ayudar a establecer un récord mundial y ayuda a salvar vidas.

   Be in the event which will begin at 10 a.m. at Big Surf Shores at Aquatica, SeaWorld’s Waterpark, with registration and amazing animal meet-and-greets. The lesson will be from 11 – 12 p.m. and each participant will receive a special certificate upon completion.

Estar en el evento que comenzará a las 10 en el Big Surf Shores en Aquatica, el parque acuático de SeaWorld, con registro y  animales espectacular para conocer y saludar. La lección será de 11 – 12: 00 pm y cada participante recibirá un certificado especial al finalizar.

 U.S. Olympic Hall of Fame member and three-time Olympic gold medalist, Ambrose “Rowdy” Gaines will also be onsite to lend a helping hand with the lesson.

Please note:  Drowning is the second leading cause of accidental death of children ages 1-14. Research shows that if a child doesn't learn to swim before the 3rd grade, they likely never will. The World's Largest Swimming Lesson is designed to draw attention to this issue, and encourage participation in swimming lesson programs. Tens of thousands of kids and adults at aquatic facilities around the world will unite for the fourth year in a row to set a new Guinness World Record at 11 a.m. EST.

Take the Plunge on Saturday, February 2

ORLANDO, Fla. (January 16, 2013) - Aquatica is pleased to be hosting the fourth annual Special Olympics
Florida Polar Plunge® 2013 on Saturday, February 2. Individuals and teams, alongside Special Olympics
athletes, families, sponsors and community members will experience heart-warming and bone chilling- extremes as they take the plunge into the cold Aquatica wave pool to raise money for Special Olympics Florida.

Hundreds of “Plungers” are expected to participate in the Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Florida – and there’s still plenty of time to join in this unique, wacky event. In addition to jumping into cold water for a good cause, a highlight of the annual event is the array of crazy costumes Plungers are encouraged to wear in the name of fun.

You can take the Plunge individually or with a team, and everyone who raises a minimum of $100 may Plunge.
For just $100 in pledges, Plungers will receive admission to Aquatica, an All-Day Food Pass, official Polar
Plunge® T-shirt and two spectator passes. There are numerous incentives for individuals to raise additional
funds, including tickets to Aquatica, SeaWorld and Discovery Cove. In addition, plungers and spectators can stay and enjoy Aquatica all day after the event.
