Health~>Multiple Sclerosis - Health #Genetics #Smoking #VitaminD #Deficiency

Hi All,
Hola

Support of Family and Friends helps with Multiple Sclerosis

Hope all is well with you all and are taking care of the family and yourselves. Remember mommy, we need to do a bit of pampering now and then as we are the main foundation of our household. Mommy is the jack of all trades, well master of some which balances out, don't  you think so?

Today, I learned about a disease that I have heard a lot about but had no idea. As I have a bit of knowledge, I am sharing with you and perhaps you can help me to learn more.

My topic is Multiple Sclerosis.

Multiple Sclerosis Research
Accordingly, Multiple Sclerosis is the disability of young people that affects the brain, spinal cord and optic nerve.

It can affect any age group although mostly affects:
  • Female ages 20-45 years, there is no indication why found as yet
  • Common in female (for every 3 female 1 man is affected)
  • Those in the North - Western Countries compared to those countries near the Equator

Multiple Sclerosis has been around for 150 years ago and it was til May 1993 that there was a pharmaceutical product to help treat to modify the disease. No CURE is available for this disease.

There is no way to tell if a patient has this disease but my monitoring suspicious symptoms of the disease and this is done by MRI scans.

The best help for the patient is early detection and treat MS which can prevent permanent damage and scar.

Early detection can help the myelin sheath, the material that surrounds and protects your nerve cells from being destroyed and can be recovered. However, once the exon is damage, it cannot recover but cause permanent damage and scars. There is no cure for the disease so early prevention is vital. It is advised that it is best to treat the disease and prevent progressive relapse.

Eating Omega3 and Omega 6 and your vegetables help fight multiple sclerosis.
Here are some factors that may be causes or risks of Multiple Sclerosis :
  • Genetic factors, if someone related to you(your mother) has it you might have it
  • One virus is mono- high rate
  • Vitamin D deficiency - needs more sun but you need only 15 minutes sunshine and healthy fats which are fatty fish such as salmon, tuna, and mackerel, plant-based oils, and flaxseed
  • Smoking is another factor that is major. Stop smoking or don't start.

Vitamin D is not needed for people living near the Equator but to those living in the Northern countries needs it.

  4. Thanks for the info! MS is a super scary disease. It's interesting that there is a higher chance of getting it depending on where you live. I wonder if that's because we're better at diagnosing it in the US? Or because of inadequate diets? Interesting.
