Hola,

This past week, our girl scout troop was invited to listen or learn about Anti Bullying.
What is Anti-Bullying? Never thought of it before but now it has become something we need to take heed and listen more to our children and know more of what is happening at school in class. It is little things that can affect our children's future.

La semana pasada, nuestra tropa fue invitada a escuchar o conocer Anti Bullying o Anti-Intimidación. ¿Qué es Anti-Bullying? Nunca pensó en ello antes pero ahora se ha hecho algo que tenemos que tener cuidado y escuchar más a nuestros hijos y saber  más de lo que pasa en la escuela en la clase. Son pequeñas cosas que pueden afectar nuestro niños en el futuro.

Bullying is a relationship problem in which power and aggression are used to cause distress to a vulnerable person. Bullying has been defined as negative physical or verbal actions that have hostile intent, cause distress to victims, are repeated over time, and involve power differential between a child who bullies and a child who becomes a victim.

La intimidación es un problema de relación en el cual el poder y la agresión son usados para causar la angustia a una persona vulnerable. La intimidación se ha definido como acciones físicas o verbales negativas que tienen la intención hostil, causan la angustia a víctimas, se repiten con el tiempo e implican el diferencial de poder entre un niño que intimida y un niño que se hace una víctima.

Bullying is a form of aggression and is not accidental but intent on harming another. Bullying is showing dominance and social status which is rewarded and supported by other children who are looking for status or sometimes love.

La intimidación es una forma de agresión y no es accidental sino la intención de perjudicar a otro. Intimidación está mostrando dominio y estatus social que es recompensado y apoyado por otros niños buscando reconocimiento o aveces amor.

Bullying is found when the prey cannot or will not defend themselves. Bullies looks for respect and power that they would not attain normally and therefore deprive others of that respect.

La intimidación se encuentra cuando la presa no puede o no quiere defenderse. Los intimidadores espera para que se respeten y potencia que no alcanzar normalmente y por lo tanto privar a otros de ese respeto.

Some places where bullies would be found are in the areas not supervised such as the hallways, bathrooms, gyms, playground, cafeterias and on school buses. Bullying may also occur on the way to and from school, at the mall and via the internet and also at home among children.

Algunos lugares donde los intimidadores se encuentra en las áreas no supervisados como los pasillos, baños, gimnasios, área de juegos, cafeterías y en los autobuses escolares. El acoso también puede ocurrir en el camino de ida y vuelta a la escuela, en el centro comercial - el Mall y a través de la internet y también en casa entre los niños.

You may notice that bullying tends to peak mainly during middle school, especially the first years of middle school specifically grades 5 through 8.

Usted puede notar que el acoso tiende a pico sobre todo en middle school, especialmente los primeros años de la escuela media específicamente los grados 5 a 8.

Here are some forms of bullying:

Aquí están algunas formas de intimidación:

Direct bullying:

Intimidación directa:

• Verbal bullying which can be name calling, hurtful teasing , humiliating or harassment.
• Physical bullying can be shoving, hitting or assaulting others.

• Intimidación verbal que puede ser llamada nombre, las burlas , humillante o acoso. 
• La intimidación física puede ser empujones, golpes, o agredir a otros.

Indirect bullying and Cyber bulling:

Acoso indirecto y Cyber bulling:

• Gossiping about others, threatening verbally
• Sending email, antagonizing the other person
• Texting and  harrassing others .

Acoso indirecto y Cyber bulling:

• Chismear sobre otros, las amenazas verbalmente
• El envío de correo electrónico, fastidiar a la otra persona
• Mensajes de texto y acosar otros.

The children had fun and were attentive in asking and answering question. There were participation which made it even more enjoyable!

Los niños tenían diversión y atentos en preguntar y y contestar a la pregunta. ¡Había participación que lo hizo aún más agradable!
