Today, I have a very interesting topic about recognition and celebration of remarkable women in our lives. I have been chosen as a participant in a campaign where the maker's of Pine-Sol® Products has joined forces with a great woman: actress and activist Rosie Perez to launch the ‘When Life Gets Tough, Women Rise Above It’ campaign. Hoy, tengo un tema muy interesante sobre el reconocimiento y la celebración de las mujeres notables en nuestras vidas. He sido elegido como participante en una campaña donde el fabricante de productos de Pine-Sol ® ha unido fuerzas con una gran mujer: actriz y activista Rosie Perez para lanzar la campaña 'Cuando la vida se pone difícil, las mujeres elevarse por encima de lo'. My mom has always motivated us and we will always be happy she is such a great person in our lives. All my sisters have inspired me in different ways but there is one that inspired me most because of whom she is as a mom, wife, daughter and a friend. As a mother, she made many sacrifices for her family. As a wife, daughter and a friend, she is a gentle and sincere person. She came to America to continue her education and came alone, leaving her children and her husband (her family.) I never understood what a mother would do for her love ones. I've helped my sister-in-laws and sisters as much as I can but as a single person. As a mother, I had no clue what bonds a mom and her children.   There were many decisions and struggles to finally have her children with her. They had to mortgage their home for her to attain her Doctor in Pharmacy Degree. I respect and admire her stamina and determination to overcome all obstacles.

Mi mamá siempre nos ha motivado y siempre estaremos encantados de que ella es una gran persona en nuestras vidas.  Todas mis hermanas me han inspirado de manera diferente, pero hay una que me ha inspirado más debido a que ella es como una mamá, esposa, hija y una amiga. Como madre, ella hizo muchos sacrificios para su familia. Como esposa, hija y un amigo, ella es una persona amable y sincera. Ella vino a los Estados Unidos a continuar su educación y vino sola, tuvo que sacrificar y dejando su hojar: a sus hijos y su marido (su familia). Nunca he entendido lo que haría una madre por sus seres queridos. Yo he ayudado a mis cuñadas y hermanas tanto como pueda, pero como una persona soltera. Como madre, no tenía ni idea de sentimientos de una madre y sus hijos. Hubo muchas decisiones y luchas de finalmente tener a sus hijos con ella. Tuvieron que hipotecar su casa para que ella logre su médico licenciado en farmacia. Yo respeto y admiro su vigor y determinación para superar todos los obstáculos.

Some years later, I found myself making decisions to leave my comfort zone and making that journey to America to be with my love one. I enjoyed the beginning of the journey but later it became a struggle. I missed my family terribly and then I remembered my sister being here alone for a couple years and that motivated me to be strong. Having a child was a time of reflection and decided after the birth of my child to continue my education at night and a stay at home mom during the day. That had some rocky path but then was successful. That was  just the beginning.

Algunos años más tarde, me encontré tomando decisiones de dejar mi zona de comodidad y haciendo ese viaje a América para estar con mi amor. Disfruté al principio del viaje pero más tarde se hizo una lucha. Eché de menos a mi familia terriblemente y luego recordé a mi hermana que estuvo aquí sola durante unos años de su pareja y esto me motivó para ser fuerte. Tener un niño era un tiempo de reflexión y decidió después del nacimiento de mi hijo seguir mi educación por la noche y una permanencia en casa como mamá durante el día. Esto tenía algún camino rocoso, pero entonces tenía éxito. Esto era sólo el principio.

The path I had chosen was Information Technology and it is a male driven world. There are instances where the glass ceiling is still quite there and not quite as easy for women. I have been fortunate after some years of competition and a 360 degree cycle, am making my entrance into the male driven world and being accepted for who I am, ‘A Women who Rise Above It.’ It is a great accomplishment for my family and I.

El camino que había elegido era tecnología informatica y es un mundo conducido masculino. Hay casos donde el techo de cristal es todavía bastante allí y no es tan fácil para las mujeres. He tenido la suerte después de algunos años de competencia y un ciclo de 360 grados, estoy haciendo mi entrada en el mundo conducido masculino y ser aceptado por quien soy, 'A las mujeres se eleva por encima de todo' , no se rinden es un gran logro para mi familia y yo.

Wakefield Research conducted a survey among women across the U.S. on behalf of Pine-Sol®
Brand Cleaners. According to the results, 86% of women ages 35 plus, say their biggest female
role model is someone they know personally, not a celebrity or political figure. Additionally,
women see the best female role models in their family (60%) and their communities (24%),
according to a Pine-Sol® survey and 65% feel they are currently a role model to someone in their
life.

In this campaign, Pine-Sol® has contributed $25,000 donation to Women Empowered, a nonprofit based in Los Angeles that connects, educates and supports women of all ages and backgrounds, inspiring them to give back to their communities.
