My French Onion soup ~> Caldo de Cebolla Frances> great for the cool weather. #Tasty #Delicious

Hello one and all,
Hola todos,

It is a blessing to be alive and have good health. I really do not take life for granted but now I do realize that with good health we can enjoy life and really do not understand those around us who try to go at our pace because they love us without complaining.

I am being a bit philosophical. I really need to start paying more attention at the things that happen around us and to the people that are around us. We have been fortunate to have all that we need but do we really need it? Is it really what we need or it is what we think we need. There are others who really need it and it seems unobtainable and we are taking it for granted. I really need to do some more reflection and be more considerate of those out of my comfort zone. It is time like this that I realize how much I have been blessed and how the angels that come into my life and leave are God sent!

I know it is Thanksgiving time but til that day I will eat everything else so I enjoy it all:)

Today, I had this graving for:
Hoy, he tenido este antojo para:
French Onion soup
 Ingredients

 6 tablespoon unsalted butter
4 onions, sliced
2 garlic cloves, chopped
2 bay leaves
2 tsp thyme
salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 cup red wine
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 quarts beef broth or vegetable broth
1 french baguette, sliced
1/2 pound grated Gruyere

Method
Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add the onions, garlic, bay leaves, thyme, and salt and pepper and cook until the onions are very soft and caramelized, approximately 15-20 minutes. Add wine, bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer until the wine has evaporated and the onions are dry, about 5 minutes. Discard the bay leaves and thyme sprigs. Dust the onions with the flour and give them a stir. Turn the heat down to medium low so the flour doesn't burn, and cook for 10 minutes to cook out the raw flour taste. Now add the vegetable broth, bring the soup back to a simmer, and cook for 10 minutes. Season, to taste, with salt and pepper.

I preheat the broiler and arrange the baguette slices on a baking sheet in a single layer. Sprinkle the slices with the Gruyere and broil until bubbly and golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes. Place the soup in bowls and float several of the Gruyere croutons on top. Enjoy! Was very yummy, what do you think?

Sopa de cebolla francesa
Ingredientes
6 cucharada mantequilla
sin sal
4 cebollas en rodajas
2 dientes de ajo, picados
2 hojas de laurel
2 cucharadita de tomillo
Sal y pimienta recién molida negro
1 taza de vino
rojo

Buen Provecho!
