Busy with the children? The summer sure keeps us on our toes and searching for what to do to keep the children active and entertained. Has there been much peace without a some interesting discussion? How do you handle those discussions?

¿Ocupado con los niños? El verano seguro nos mantiene en alerta y buscando qué hacer para mantener a los niños activos y entretenidos. ¿Hubo mucha paz sin un poco de discusión interesante? ¿Cómo maneja aquellas discusiones?

Well, I have been fortunate to attend Michaels Summer activity and they have been interesting and kept the children busy with some awesome activities. The children could learned a lot more in using different tools and being creative.

 Bueno, he tenido la suerte de asistir a algunas de las actividad del verano de Michaels y han sido interesantes y los niños se mantuvo ocupado con algunos actividades increíbles. Los niños podrían aprender mucho más en la utilización de diferentes herramientas y ser creativo.

Their topic for this specific day was Europe and the two countries were: Italy and France. Let's learn a little about Italy and France. What should the kids know? Have you been there?

El tema para este día específico era Europa y fueron los dos países: Italia y Francia. Vamos a aprender un poco sobre Italia y Francia. ¿Qué deben saber los niños? ¿Has estado ahí?

Italy, officially the Italian Republic, is a unitary parliamentary republic in Southern Europe. To the north, it borders France, Switzerland, Austria, and Slovenia along the Alps. Wikipedia 

Italia, oficialmente la República italiana, es una república parlamentaria unitaria en el sur de Europa. Al norte, limita con Francia, Suiza, Austria y Eslovenia a lo largo de la Alpes.

Italy Facts: Animals in Italy

Sheep are held mainly in Southern Italy and the donkeys still help farmers in remote villages to carry heavy loads over steep terrain.
One interesting factor is that: Brown bears are protected in Italy, as there are only few bears left in the wild now.

In the Alps you will very likely see the marmots, which make a very high pitched calling sound.

 And if you are very lucky you might even spot a lynx.

En los Alpes, muy probablemente verá las marmotas, que hacen una muy alta lanzó llamando sonido.
Y si eres muy afortunado, que hasta puede detectar un lince.

 Italian/French Language

Italian and French are languages which is coming from Latin roots and you still can recognize some of the words root. Italian is considered romantic based on the latin roots and is used in opera and most popular by young musicians. French is the official language in France and it is also the second major language in Europe. Most young people learn to speak English, French or German as well in school in Italy.

Italiano y francés son lenguas que viene de raíces latinas y todavía puede reconocer un poco de la raíz de palabras. Italiano se considera romántico basado en las raíces latinas y es usado en la ópera y el más popular por músicos jóvenes. Francés es el idioma oficial en Francia y también es la segunda lengua principal en Europa. La mayor parte de jóvenes aprenden a hablar inglés, francés o alemán también en la escuela en Italia.

 Italian Family

The family is very a very important part of the lives of an Italians, where there are still many big families including grandparents, parents and children in the household. Italians love their food, which is usually prepared freshly by the “Mama”, but more and more men love to cook and break away from the typical image of the Italian "macho" and nowadays help in the household or stay at home with the kids while the women goes to work.
Italians are famous for their inventions and discoveries. The Italian explorers Christopher Columbus and Amerigo Vespucci discovered the Americas while Marco Polo explored the East.
Leonardo da Vinci was a scientist and artist who was the first to prove the world is round and not flat and Alessandro Volta, was the prioneer who did studies in electricity, hence the name “Volt” describing a unit of electricity.
Did you know that Italians also invented the piano and the thermometer?

La familia es muy una parte muy importante de la vida de un Italianos, donde todavía hay muchos grandes familias, abuelos, padres y niños en el hogar. Los italianos aman la comida, que es por lo general recién preparadas por la "mamá", pero más y más hombres amor para cocinar y romper con la típica imagen del Italiano 'macho' y en la actualidad es ayudar en el hogar o quedarse en casa con los niños y las mujeres se pone a trabajar.

Los italianos son famosos por sus inventos y descubrimientos. El italiano Cristóbal Colón y los exploradores Amerigo Vespucci descubierto las Américas, mientras que Marco Polo exploró el Oriente.

 The children made pasta with pieces of wool and cardboard and little red pieces. It was fun!

Los niños hicieron pasta con piezas de lana y cartón y roja. Fue divertido!

Italian Food

Let's learn something interesting about the Italian food besides pasta. We all know how children love pasta and pizza!The Italian pasta is renowned worldwide and there are more than 200 different shapes. Italians love their food and many dishes are based on fresh vegetables and seafood too. Did you know that Italians eat spaghetti only with a fork?

Todos sabemos que los niños les encanta la pasta y la pizza!La pasta italiana es famosa en el mundo, y hay más de 200 formas diferentes. Los italianos aman a sus alimentos y muchos platos están basados en vegetales frescos y mariscos. ¿Sabía usted que los italianos sólo comer espaguetis con una horquilla?

 French Food 

The bread you will get in France in a typical French "boulangerie" (bakery) is mostly white wheat bread or bread sticks, called "baguette".

The children made the Eiffel Tower with beads and worked diligently at making it right. It was not an easy task.

The children were so very happy to take home their work that day. After it was made, an adult had to iron it to keep it together. Everyone was smiling when they left holding their artwork as a trophy.

Los niños estaban tan contentos de llevar su trabajo ese día. Después de que se hizo, un adulto de hierro a todo junto. Todos estaba sonriendo cuando se quedaronn con sus obras de arte como un trofeo.
