Ology Healthy Home affair #Reveiw

Some days ago I went to WALGREENS and saw a particular brand that drew my attention. It was a picture of several Ology products. The fact that they contain non-harmful ingredients made me decide to try these products and see if it they were worth a second try. These products are implying that Walgreens is showing that they are making a start at going green or living healthy.

These are the products I saw available :

  • All purpose cleaner
  • Washing Liquid
  • Toilet paper
  • facial tissue
  • baby shampoo
  • light
  • Copy Paper
  • Light bulb
It was interesting to find out that I was offered a card to go shopping for these products and know what I think about them.
I decided on these chosen products since I was skeptical and rated them according to my standards. I first check the ingredients of the products.

The toilet paper is good, it has the same texture as the other toilet papers and  and it is definitely strong! What I do like is the fact that Ology is using a type of grass (bamboo) and sugarcane husk. I agree with the sugarcane husk since we must get rid of it and this is a good way to recycle. It is not made of wood. This will help the environment as long as it is replanted; it will help the ecosystem to balance nature.

The paper tissue was just as good as any other brand except for one that is more expensive. The tissue  is strong and no one has made any comment in the family, so that means it is a good made and feels the same of the previous one.

The 2x laundry liquid is also good and does a good job of the clothes being washed and smelling nice
The clothing that were filthy with dirt from cleaning the patio was cleaned removing the grassy stain.

The All Purpose Cleaner worked well for me and cleaned the grease and grime as it was tested for that purpose. This review took a while to get the results right. It worked well in that it took several spraying to get the grime and grease out but eventually had perfect result.

Although I agree these are good products, I must let my concerns be known as it is important to let my readers know what I have learnt in my research and share with them.  Both the 2x laundry Liquid and All Purpose Cleaner says Natural Fragrance; my question is exactly "what is Natural fragrance made with?" If I can have the ingredients of the Natural fragrance answered I would be happy.

Ology

‘Ology,’ the first nationally accessible and affordable line of household liquid products free of harmful chemicals available in our stores,” said Joe Magnacca, president of daily living products and solutions for Walgreens. “Ology reflects our dedication to innovation, our constant drive to improve our customers’ quality of life, and our ongoing commitment to help people get, stay and live well.”

My concerns and Word of advise!

Even though the products are good and gets the job done right, it is the readers'  final decision to decide if the product is healthy and green as it depends on the individual's personal opinion.

Being a environmentalist, I am concern with the bamboo being replanting
, considering who is selling and if it is being reproduced again.

Upon doing my research I found that citrus based fragrance used in cleaning products react with ozone, a common air pollutant, to form formaldehyde. Also, the spray can affect those who are allergic since it is in the air and cause a reaction. There is also an after effect that will not be known until after some 10 years.

One of the main advice given was that unless the ingredients listed for Natural fragrance is shown, do not buy, stick with fragrance free or free or clear.

Please note that these are the ingredients in the 2x Laundry Liquid and what it does:

Coco-Glucoside in all purpose cleaner = Free of irritating sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), Benefit Clean is an immensely beneficial facial cleanser that’s gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin types.
