What does it mean to be Orgullosa?

¿Qué significa ser Orgullosa?

To be Orgullosa means hardwork , perseverance at successfully attaining your goals and accomplishment. 

Para estar orgullosa significa diligencia mostrada , perseverancia con éxito en alcanzar sus metas y logros.

It certainly is wonderful to be a part of  a caring and hardworking latin community. Today, the world portrays the accomplishment of the successful Latin woman as a great attribute or factor compared to the past whereby a latin woman's place would be a stay at home mom. It was unheard of to be working unless you were a single mother or poor.

Sin duda, es una maravilla para ser parte de un cuidado y trabajadora comunidad latina. Hoy en día, el mundo retrata la realización exitosa de la mujer latina como un gran atributo o factor en comparación con el pasado que una mujer latina de lugar sería un ama de casa.  Era de estar trabajando a menos que fueras una madre soltera o pobres

The beauty of the Latin woman is shown in her personality as an independent, strong, confident, intelligent, campasionate, loving and last but not least knows how to multitask. She is a woman considered to be the bread winner,  homemaker, ever present mom and wife; just to name a few categories to define the present day woman.

La belleza de la mujer Latina se muestra en su personalidad como independiente, fuerte, seguro, inteligente, compasivo, amoroso y último pero no menos sabe multitarea. Ella es una mujer que considera que el ganador de pan, ama de casa, mamá siempre presente y esposa; por nombrar unas pocas categorías para definir a la mujer de hoy en día.

Have you joined the Orgullosa.com movement? Orgullosa is a  new initiative that celebrates the diverse, collective beauty of Latina women. The movement encourages Latina women to promote not only their  own beauty standard, but also their accomplishments as daughters of the new world.  The unspoken bond that unites them is what defines them: Mujeres con La Falda Bien Puesta™ which translates to, “women with their skirts well positioned.” Orgullosa women are independent, strong, and proud. They are always challenging expectations and pushing against limitations and boundaries and know that culture is an asset to their achievements and limitless potential. 

Why Orgullosa? Orgullosa.com  exists to fuel Latinas as they seize their limitless potential through 

the transformative power of community.  

How is Orgullosa achieving its purpose? Orgullosa offers Latinas a platform for peer-to-peer 

interaction, from daily conversation to opportunities to contribute to the community at large. It's the 

only destination that focuses content on best-in-class brands and solutions for her changing and busy 

lifestyle.

¿Se ha unido el Orgullosa.com movimiento? Orgullosa es una nueva iniciativa que celebra la belleza diversa, colectiva de mujeres de la Latina. El movimiento anima a mujeres de la Latina a promover no sólo su propio estándar de belleza, sino también sus logros como hijas del nuevo mundo. La obligación tácita que los une es lo que los define: Mujeres engañan el La Falda Bien Puesta™ que traduce a, “mujeres con sus faldas bien colocadas. ” Las mujeres de Orgullosa son independientes, fuertes, y orgullosas. I am Orgullosa at being a daughter, sister, wife, mom , family and friend. Each of these relationships has mold me into a progressive, confident and inspiring person that I am today as well as the circumstances that presents themselves and has been able to contribute to our Latina community. In the past we had a sheltered life. Today, a Latina woman's  life is not as sheltered and have to deal with many changes and challenges in society that has no boundaries. There are many peer pressure, however, with a good foundation from our parents we as Orgullosa women make effective decisions in our lives.

Estoy Orgullosa de ser una hija, hermana, esposa, madre, familia y amigo. Cada una de estas relaciones me ha convertido en una progresiva, conviada y inspiradora persona que soy hoy, así como las circunstancias que se presentan a sí mismos y ha podido contribuir a nuestra comunidad Latina. En el pasado tuvimos una vida muy protegida. Hoy, la vida de una mujer Latina no es tan protegida y tienen que lidiar con muchos cambios y desafíos en la sociedad que no tiene fronteras. Hay muchos presiónes, sin embargo, con una buena base de nuestros padres, la mujer Orgullosa toma decisiones eficaces en nuestras vidas.

During high school, I was in the youth group and participated and contributed in many community development. After high school, I took time off, travelled to several other beautiful countries and met some brilliant, loving, wonderful people. Reality hits and returned to work and to college. I enjoyed my life travelling, learning about other culture and continued contributed in the community as a Roteract member. Contributing to and being compassionate with others in the community ARE inspirational and i learnt to appreciate what I have and understand that material things come and go but is not happiness. Making others happy and being compassionate is a feeling that brings happiness to others and to oneself which has a lasting and memorable effect. Life continues for the Orgullosa Latina woman.

Durante la escuela secundaria, estaba en el grupo juvenil y participé y contribuí en muchos el desarrollo de la comunidad. Después de la escuela secundaria, me tome un tiempo y viaje y conoci a muchas gente maravillosa. Realidad golpea y regrese  al trabajo y a la universidad. He disfrutado de mi vida de viajes, conoci otras culturas y continue contribuyendo en la comunidad como un miembro de Roteract.

 Contribuyendo a la comunidad y siendo compasivo con los demás son motivos de inspiracion que me han hecho a aprender a apreciar lo que poseo y a entender que las cosas materiales vienen y van, pero no son lo que crean la felicidad. Hacer felices a los demás y ser compasivo es un sentimiento que da la felicidad a los demás y a uno mismo el cual tiene un efecto dudadero y memorable. La vida sigue para la Orgullosa mujer latina.

As an Orgullosa Latin women I was living in two worlds while adapting to the new homeland. This process is not easy but challenging expectations, pushing against limitations, boundaries and know that culture is an asset in my achievements and limitless potential, holding on to my dreams is my objective. 

Como unas mujeres latinas Orgullosa vivía en los dos mundos adaptándome a la nueva patria. Este proceso no es expectativas fáciles pero provocativas, que empujan contra limitaciones, límites y sepa que la cultura es un activo en mis logros y el potencial ilimitado, agarrándose a mis sueños es mi objetivo.

Every woman needs a community, I have been blessed to be a part of the girl scout and my church. These communities has opened doors to contributing to the community by doing many activities throughout the year. Helping the less fortunate, being a mentor, inspiring the younger girls to become great Latina women in our community. The journey of this Orgullosa Latina woman is filled with roller coasters, thrills and surely will continue as my dreams continues to take shape.

Cada mujer necesita una comunidad, he sido bendecido al ser parte de la scout y mi iglesia. Estas comunidades ha abierto las puertas a contribuir a la comunidad haciendo muchas actividades a lo largo del año. Ayudar a los menos afortunados, siendo un mentor, inspirando las mujeres más jóvenes para convertirse en grandes mujeres latinas en nuestra comunidad. El viaje de esta mujer de la Latina Orgullosa está lleno de montañas rusas, emociones y seguramente seguirá mientras que mis sueños siguen tomando la forma.
