Emmy Rossum: Musical Talent Album Review #SentimentalJourney

This is one of my daughter's favorite. She is taken with Emmy Rossum CD from the first moment she heard it. I enjoy music to dance but not as taken to music as the rest of my family. They are keen musical lovers. They love to play musical instruments and can play the tune by listening. It is beautiful to listen to them discussing music. It gives me so much joy to listen to talents discuss music creatively.

It is lovely to listen to Emmy Rossum wonderful voice that blends with the instruments and become one. On Sentimental Journey, the multi-talented actress and singer brings her stellar voice to songs popularized by some of the most beloved artists of the last century. Her voice is a stand alone and you get carried away with each melody.

Sentimental Journey, released today on January 29th, is a collection of classic covers that takes us through the American Songbook. 

Emmy's 12-song 'passion project' is an emotional musical journey, with each song representing a month in the year. "Each song needed to either lyrically or emotionally reflect the corresponding month," Emmy explained. "Some songs were obvious fits, like Summer Windfor June, and Pretty Paper for December. Others songs were less literal fits. I chose Nobody Knows You (When You're Down and Out) for September because, to me, the plaintive melody and lyric emotionally reflect the cold weather creeping in and the sense of melancholy we can get in the fall months."

Our favorite of Emmy's 12-song 'passion project' that we keep humming are Sentimental Journey whereby my little ones would gather around and danced. Amazing how the tune leads us to twirl around on the floor. She is so multi-talented in that one minute Emmy musical voice has us spinning around and the next she has us grooving to a slow, emotional or jazzy tune such as Nobody Knows You When You Are Down And Out and Pretty Paper.

Rossum is also an acclaimed actress who currently stars in the Showtime series Shameless with William H. Macy. She also stars alongside Emma Thompson and Viola Davis in the upcoming feature film Beautiful Creatures, which hits theaters on February 13th.

 Emmy performed a track from Sentimental Journey on Access Hollywood Live on January 25th and  also appeared as a guest on Conan on January 28th as well as Chelsea Lately on January 29th. Emmy will be appearing on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson on February 6th.

Emmy Rossum's Sentimental Journey is surely to be a Beautiful gift to share with your love one on Valentine's Day! It will be an awesome and memorable piece. 

We surely will be hearing these tunes quite often with the family humming the Emmy Rossum's lovely voice.
