Feliz Día de Acción de Gracias a todos ustedes gente maravillosa!

It really would be the most marvelous place if we could all try to share a bit with those less fortunate.
Let's share a bit of the fruit or a plate of food today and at days you can make it possible.

Creo que sería realmente la más maravillosa si todos podemos intentar compartir un poco con los menos afortunados. Compartamos un poco de la fruta o de un plato de comida hoy y en días que se puede hacer posible.

I am touched by how many people are homeless at this time some due to the economy and some based on other reasons. It is heartbreaking to see how many visit the Miami Rescue Mission. 

Me siento triste por cuántas personas están sin hogar en este momento algunos debido a la economía y algunas de ellas se basan en otras razones. Es desgarrador ver cómo muchos visitan las Miami Misión de Rescate.

Some years ago for one of my classes, there was a project to help others. This project had many obstacles and began with 8 people. Somehow with all the obstacles, there were only two students left in our group. We were told to find another place as there will be no response. I was persistent and felt that this was our project. There is a saying "Things happen for a reason!" At this point in life and based on circumstances, there is always a reason and I learn from it.

Hace unos años para una de mis clases, había un proyecto para ayudar a los demás. Este proyecto tuvo muchos obstáculos y comenzó con 8 personas. De alguna manera con todos los obstáculos, sólo había dos estudiantes en nuestro grupo. Nos dijeron que  hay que encontrar otro lugar ya que no va a haber una respuesta. Yo era persistente y consideró que este era nuestro proyecto. Hay un refrán que dice "las cosas suceden por una razón!' en este punto en la vida y en las circunstancias, siempre hay una razón y yo aprender de ella.

 I had the opportunity of my life to visit the Miami Rescue Mission before Thanksgiving Day. I must say, I was never prepared for what I encountered. Somehow, this adventure was preparing me for life in more than one way.  We were able to do more than just what was required. We were able to sort out clothing at the bargain store and attend a car sale event and the proceeds were given to the Miami Rescue Mission. That went well.

Tuve la oportunidad de mi vida para visitar la Misión de Rescate Miami día antes del Día de Acción de Gracias. Debo decir que nunca fue preparado para lo que he encontrado. De alguna manera, esta aventura me estaba preparando para la vida en más de una forma. Pudimos hacer algo más que lo que se requiere. Pudimos resolver ropa en la tienda y asistir a negociar un coche evento venta y los ingresos de la venta se da a la Miami Misión de Rescate. Que ha ido bien.

We were later told to go to the Mission and ask for the manager. The people inside waiting were all well mannered and friendly. We were going to help serve the food to the homeless. We meet some nice person who held responsible jobs. We were given our utensils we would need and we helped to put the dishes of food on the table.  

Después nos dijeron para vayamos a la Misión y hablar con el gerente. Las personas que estaban en espera estaban todas bien educado  y amable. Íbamos a ayudar a servir la comida a la persona sin hogar. Nos dieron nuestros utensilios que necesitamos y ayudamos a poner los platos de comida sobre la mesa.

We waited a couple minutes and we were amazed to see the long queue forming rapidly. They had such a great sense of humor, very pleasant and well mannered. You would believe it was a great neighborhood picnic. What amazed me was that they were healthy, handsome, and good nature people. It was a really nice time issuing food to these people.

Esperamos unos minutos de pareja y estábamos asombrados ver la cola larga formarse rápidamente. Tenían un gran sentido del humor, muy agradable y bien educado. Usted se creería que es un gran picnic del barrio. Lo que más me sorprendió fue que estaban sanos, guapo y buen carácter. Fue un tiempo realmente agradable dando comida a estas personas.


When I was able to speak to a couple of them, I was awed at their amazing life they had. Quite a number of them had outstanding jobs. There was downsizing of the company and they were let off, and after a while was unable to pay their rent and eventually homeless. There were some that admit the influence of drugs was their downfall but had some great position in the company. There were many wonderful conversation. Many were very thankful for their good health and life.

Cuando yo era capaz de hablar con un par de ellos, yo estaba impresionado por su increíble vida que tenían. Muchos de ellos tenían empleos excepcionales. Hubo una reducción del tamaño de la empresa y se deje y después de un tiempo fue incapaz de pagar su alquiler y eventualmente sin hogar. Hubo algunos que admiten la influencia de drogas fue su perdición, pero tenía una gran posición en la empresa. Hubo muchos conversación maravillosa. Muchos estaban muy agradecidos por su buena salud y la vida.

On our way there, the streets were clean and no one around. On our way out after cleaning up and leaving the place ready for the next meal, I was overwhelm by what I saw. The every space on the sidewalk was taken. It was like a campsite without any tents. There were several makeshift tents where there were couples in them. Many were well dressed as they were left with only their clothing. They were quite  nice saying "Thanks for helping and come again." I was moved and filled with compassion and I wept. It is something that is always there with me, was an incredible experience that will never forget.

En nuestro camino, las calles estaban limpias y nadie alrededor. En nuestra salida después de la limpieza y abandonar el lugar listo para la próxima comida, yo estaba desbordado por lo que vi. Se tomó el cada espacio en la acera. Era como un camping sin cualquier tiendas de campaña. Hubo varias carpas improvisadas donde había parejas en ellos. Muchos estaban bien vestidos como dejaron con sólo su ropa. Eran bastante agradables diciendo 'Gracias por ayudarme y vuelve'. Me conmovio y llena de emocion, lloré. Es algo que siempre está ahí conmigo, fue una experiencia increíble que nunca olvidará.

I am forever grateful for my health, my family, my friends and acquaintances, the people that have crossed my path, those that are passing by and those to come. Everyone in my life was sent for a reason and has left a mark in my life. There are many scars to show, some sad, some bittersweet and some wonderful and exciting, for all of them I will always be grateful as it makes me who I am. I am bless with many angels in my life for which I am forever thankful!

Estoy eternamente agradecido por mi salud, mi familia, mis amigos y conocidos, y la gente que se cruzó en mi camino, los que están pasando por el lugar y las que están por venir. Todos en mi vida fue enviado por una razón y ha dejado huella en mi vida. Hay muchas cicatrices para mostrar, algunas tristes, algunos agridulce y unos maravillosos y emocionante, en todos ellos siempre estaré agradecido, ya que me hace quien soy. Estoy bendiga con muchos ángeles en mi vida para que yo soy siempre agradecido!

With this in mind, I try to have something with me to give whenever I encounter someone that is asking for help. I was on my way to a function a couple weeks ago and at a stop light, there was this guy with a sign "I am hungry and a veteran!" If he was honest or not, he was very much appreciative. I was just going to share an enormous apple when I saw him. I told my little one, I believe we can wait a little later to eat something, I will give him the apple.

Con esto en mente, que intento hacer algo conmigo para dar cada vez que me encuentro con alguien que está pidiendo ayuda. Yo estaba en mi camino a una función hace un par de semanas y en un semáforo, no fue un joven con un signo "tengo hambre y un veterano!" si él fue honesto o no, fue muy agradecidos. Que sólo iba a compartir un enorme apple cuando lo vi. Le dije a mi pequeña, creo que podemos esperar un poco más tarde a comer algo, yo le daré la manzana.

I called him over and signal if he would like the apple. He said 'Yes ma'm, I like apples. Wow, this is a large apple. Thank you very much!' I was amazed that he said so much and how grateful he was. I felt sad that I did not have more to give but was happy to give him something. It is not how much you have but how much you give that makes a difference. It makes a difference in someone's life, sharing is caring!!!!


Llamé y señale la manzana. Él dijo 'Sí señora, me gustan  las manzanas. "Wow, esto es una manzana grande, ¡Muchas gracias!' Me sorprendió que él dijera tanto y que agradecido él era. Me sentí triste que yo no tenía más para dar, pero era contento de darle algo. No es cuánto usted tiene, pero cuánto usted da lo que hace una diferencia. ¡Esto hace una diferencia en la vida de alguien, el compartimiento es bueno!!!!!!!
